#89The Happy Land
Hymn Display
1
I HAVE heard of a land that is ever bright,
Where friends never change, nor fade from our sight;
I have seen gentle spirits who thither have gone,
To meet them again my spirit doth long.
2
I have heard that there flowers are ever in bloom,
And always send forth the richest perfume;
I've heard that no sickness or death will be there,
No sin to molest, or fill with despair.
3
I've heard that the blest on that happy shore,
Will never be hungry or thirst any more;
The light of the City which sweetly hath shone,
Proceeds from the Lamb, who sits on the Throne.
4
I've heard there are pleasures unspeakably sweet,
And tones of affection both holy and deep;
I've heard that all tears will be wiped from the eye,
For that happy land my spirit doth sigh.
