O Law of God! blest and divine

1O Law of God! blest and divine!
Long shall thy sacred precepts shine,
Firm as the everlasting hills shall stand
From Sinai's top thy righteous command.

2God's covenant shall all endure,
Though heaven and earth shall pass away;
That rule which is the angel's guide
Shall be our law that binds us all to obey.

3With all my power, from morn till night,
I'll punish wrong and love the right
That sacred law, though others scorn
Shall be my comfort, morn and day.

4O that an angel's tongue were mine!
Then would I magnify that law divine,
And tell the world that righteous law
Perpetual is, and will endure alway.

5And when earth's trials here are o'er,
Free from all sorrow, pain, and pain,
And tell us in thy holy covenant law,
Still that law shall there forever reign.
