Light of the world, shine on our souls

1Light of the world, shine on our souls;
Thy grace we ask to learn;
And while we meet to learn thy truth,
Be thou our hearts' concern.

2Its holiness discern;
Its joyful news of saving grace
By blest experience learn.

3Its faithfulness, sweetness, power, and depth,
Its holiness discern;
Its joyful news of saving grace
By blest experience learn.

4Thus may thy word be dearer still,
And richer more each day;
And sanctify more each day;
Thyself in its display.
