Hymn 53
2Here the Redeemer's welcome voice
Spreads heavenly peace around ;
And life, and everlasting joys
Attend the blissful sound.
3Jesus, thy word with friendly aid
Restores our troubled heart ;
Converts the sorrows of the mind
To joys divinely sweet.
4Oh ! may these heavenly pages be
My ever dear delight ;
And still new beauties may I see,
And still increasing light.
5Divine Instructor, gracious Lord,
Be thou forever near ;
Teach me to love thy sacred word,
And view my Saviour there.
1WITH my whole heart I've sought thy face,
Oh ! let me never stray ;
From thy commands, O God of grace,
Nor tread the sinner's way.
2Thy word I've hid within my heart,
To keep my conscience clear ;
And be an everlasting guard
From every rising sin.
3My heart with sacred rev'rence hears
The threatenings of thy word ;
My flesh, with holy fear I feel,
The judgments of the Lord.
4My God ! I long, I pant, I wait,
For thy salvation still ;
While thy whole law is my delight,
And I obey thy will.
