Hymn 520
1THE sprinkled blood is speaking
Before the Father's throne,
The Spirit's power is seeking
To make our hearts its own.
The sprinkled blood is telling
Jehovah's love to man,
While heavenly harps are swelling
Sweet notes to mercy's plan.
2The sprinkled blood is speaking
Forgiveness full and free ;
Its wondrous power is breaking
Each bond of guilt for me.
A Father's smiling face,
While tears flow in a streamlet,
Each monument of grace.
3The sprinkled blood at pleading
Its virtue as my own,
For there my soul is reading
The message from the throne.
The sprinkled blood is owning
The weak one's feeblest plea,
And nights, and fears, and groaning,
It pleads, O Lord, with thee.
4Oh, wondrous power that speaketh
From sin to set me free ;
Ah, precious blood that speaketh !
Should I not value thee ?
Around the throne thus pleading,
Its fragrance all around,
It gilds the path we're treading,
It makes our joys abound.
