Safely, My God, Without Delay

1Safely, my God, without delay,
Let me Thy goodness prove,
And lose myself in boundless day
Of everlasting love.

2Enlarged my heart, and make it free
To run where grace abounds;
O let me taste and ever see
That love which grace surrounds.

3How precious, Lord, Thy sacred word!
What light and joy those leaves afford
To souls benighted and distressed!
Thy precepts guide my doubtful way.

4Thy testimonies every one
Are faithful, just, and true;
Each of them makes Thy glory known,
And shows what love can do.
