O Blessed Hour

1O blessed hour, when mortal man
Retires to seek his God,
When earth-born cares he banishes
And treads the heavenly road.

2O blessed hour, when weary souls
Find sweet and soft repose,
When burdened hearts lay down their load
And taste a sweet compose.

3O blessed hour, when God inclines
His ear to mortal prayer,
When mercy's streams flow freely down
To wash away our care.

4Then to that sacred hour of prayer
With grateful hearts we'll flee,
And find in communion sweet
Our rest and peace in Thee.
