Again at Evening's Solemn Hour

1Again at evening's solemn hour
We bow before Thy throne,
O God of mercy, love, and power,
We worship Thee alone.

2We thank Thee for the day now past,
For food and raiment given;
For rest and peace that cannot last
Save in the home of heaven.

3Forgive the sins that we have done,
The words we should not say,
The thoughts that in our hearts have run
Throughout this passing day.

4And now we lay us down to rest,
On Thee our hope we stay;
By guardian angels may we blessed
Till dawns another day.
